Las Vegas Eviction Attorneys

Protecting Tenants from Eviction in Las Vegas and the Surrounding Areas

While the eviction moratorium is over, an eviction attorney in Las Vegas can still help Nevada residents avoid eviction. At Fox, Imes & Crosby, LLC, we understand that there are many reasons people can miss rental payments, and the recent pandemic has harmed tens of thousands of people in Las Vegas. Our eviction attorneys will discuss all of your options to stop eviction, including mediation, applying for government programs, negotiation, and bankruptcy.

Nevada alone has received over $5 million in rental assistance from the federal government. This money is specifically for helping renters catch up on their rent. Additionally, the Nevada Legislature has recently passed AB 486, which gives you a defense to stop foreclosure if you are seeking payment assistance from the government. Our team of eviction lawyers is here to help you apply for the programs that can help you pay your rent and stop eviction until you get your share of funds.

Las Vegas Eviction Mediation & Bankruptcy Options

Another program recently created by the Nevada Legislature is the Eviction Mediation Program. This program is designed to help tenants meet with your landlord, explain your situation, and, with the help of a mediator, work toward a resolution so you do not end up on the street. This can also help you avoid an eviction on your credit report, so renting a new space isn’t more difficult in the future. Even if you are planning on leaving, the Eviction Mediation Program may help you establish a more definite timeline on when you will need to leave.

If you cannot acquire federal assistance or if the mediation does not work, there are bankruptcy options that may also give you the opportunity to finish your lease, or at least give you additional time before you have to move. If filing for Chapter 13 is the best option for you, you may be able to assume your lease and propose to re-pay the amount you are behind over a 3-5-year period. Eviction options are incredibly time sensitive, and the longer you wait, the fewer options you have. You won't find a better team of lawyers that deal with evictions. We're here help you find peace of mind, working quickly and thoroughly to find the right options for you.
